Residents urged to check what benefits they are entitled to

Bridgend county borough residents are being encouraged to make sure they’re not missing out on any benefits they are entitled to.

Welsh Government has launched the Claim What’s Yours campaign to ensure people are aware of the benefits that could offer them the support they need.

According to recent research, thousands of people in Wales are believed to not be claiming the benefits they are entitled to. This can include things like Pension Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support and disability benefits.

If you are unsure about what benefits you can claim, Advicelink Cymru can help you check. It offers free and confidential advice on a range of subjects, including welfare benefits, debt, employment, education, housing, immigration and discrimination.

A trained advisor will talk to you about your circumstances and help you find out what benefits you may be entitled to, helping to support you throughout the claim process and fill in any claim forms. They can also advise on what evidence you need to provide.

For more information, call Advicelink Cymru on their free helpline - 0808 250 5700. It is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
