Resurfacing work planned for busy Cefn Cribwr road

Night-time closures will be in place along Farm Road in Cefn Cribwr while essential resurfacing works are carried out.

The works form part of Bridgend County Borough Council’s highway improvement programme, which is seeing roads across the county borough undergo resurfacing, repair and improvements as part of a £2.7m investment into the local highway network this year.

Resurfacing work on Farm Road in Cefn Cribwr is expected to start on Monday 16 August and is expected to last until Thursday 26 August.

As the work will be carried out between 7pm and midnight, it will affect the last two evening runs of the Number 63 service.

The road will be closed from its junction with Cefn Road / Rogers Lane to its junction with Pant Rhosla.

An alternative route will be in place via Rogers Lane, the A473 at High Street Laleston, the A473 at Bryntirion Hill, the A473 along Park Street, the A4063 at Tondu Road, the A4063 Bridgend Road to Penyfai, the B4281 Park Road, the B4281 Fountain Road, and the B4281 at Ty Cribbwr Hill.

This is the latest local road to benefit from the council’s rolling £2.7m programme of improvements, and we want to give drivers plenty of notice before work begins as the detour for this location is unavoidably lengthy.

Every effort is being made to minimise disruption, but some inconvenience will be unavoidable in the short-term.

Councillor Stuart Baldwin, Cabinet Member for Communities
