Resurfacing work underway on Coychurch Road

Road closures are in place along part of Coychurch Road, Brackla as resurfacing works are carried out.

Works will be carried out in two phases and form part of Bridgend County Borough Council’s highway improvement programme.

The programme is seeing roads across the county borough undergo resurfacing, repair and improvements as part of a £2.7m investment into the local highway network this year.

Resurfacing works which started in Coychurch Road, Brackla, on Monday July 26 are anticipated to continue until Monday August 2, dependant on weather conditions. They will be carried out between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

The works are split into two sections:

- Coychurch Road from its junction with Erw Hir in a westerly direction to the junction of Brackla Way, (Haywain Roundabout).

And:

- Coychurch Road from its junction with Heol Simonston in a westerly direction to the junction with Erw Hir, Brackla.

Alternative routes have been put in place for drivers with access being maintained for pedestrians and emergency vehicles.

We are committed to ensuring that our highways are maintained to a high standard across the county borough. We are carrying out work on 40 local roads as part of our highway improvement programme.

Every effort is made to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum but, given the nature of the work, some inconvenience is unavoidable.

We ask drivers to please be patient while these works are completed.

Councillor Stuart Baldwin, Cabinet Member for Communities
