Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility

Local people throughout the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Safeguarding Board (CTMSB) area are being reminded of how they can report concerns over adults and children during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Covering the county boroughs of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend, the CTMSB is a statutory partnership made up of agencies responsible for safeguarding children and adults at risk.

Revised operating models have been put in place to ensure the board can comply with Government advice and continue to provide a safeguarding service and response within the region.

National and regional updates are being provided through the Safeguarding Board’s website, which also offers information, advice and resources for professionals and those within the community on how to respond and stay safe during the pandemic.

People are being asked to remain vigilant and to look out for friends, families and neighbours. Signs that someone may be experiencing any type of harm can be reported by calling 01656 642477 for adults, and 01656 642320 for children between 8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am-4.30pm on Fridays.

To contact social care services outside these hours or at weekends and over bank holidays, contact the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Emergency Duty Team on 01443 743665.

If you suspect a person is at immediate risk of harm, call 999 and speak to the police.
