Grant helps pay for new scooters

A new fleet of mobility scooters has been rolled out in Bridgend town centre after the Shopmobility service received a £20,000 grant from Welsh Government.

Former council owned buildings auctioned

An old block of public toilets in Bridgend town centre, a former care home in Maesteg and a four-storey building in Porthcawl - which used to be council offices – were sold at a recent auction for a total amount of £736k.

Active travel work finishes this month

Work on the creation of a £1.5m safe pedestrian and cycle route linking both Pencoed and Coychurch to Bridgend will be completed by the end of this month (March).

Thousands of new trees planted

Thousands of new trees have been planted across Bridgend County Borough as part of an ongoing initiative to improve air quality, cut down on pollution, reduce soil erosion and help prevent flooding.

Litter picking hub opens in Bridgend

Kenfig Hill, Pyle and Cornelly (KPC) Youth and Community has become the fourth litter picking hub to be created in Bridgend county borough with a further six hubs planned for the coming year.
