Registering a birth

Appointments are now available at Bridgend Register Office for parents who have been unable to register the birth of babies born during the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The appointments will be available at Bridgend Register Office’s all-new premises within the Civic Offices at Angel Street, Bridgend, and can be booked by calling 01656 642391 or emailing

Your midwife will give you a ‘registration of baby’s birth’ leaflet which explains where you can register your child and what information you will need to provide.

The birth of your baby needs to be registered in the district where the birth took place. If your baby was born at the Princess of Wales Hospital or at home anywhere within Bridgend County Borough, you will need to register the birth at Bridgend Register Office.
