Employment land availability
Policy SP9 of the Local Development Plan identifies and protects 120 hectares of land across the County Borough for employment purposes. Appendix 3 of the Local Development Plan gives the total amount of vacant employment land (as allocated by Policies SP9 and REG1 of the LDP) within the borough and categorises it according to it’s availability. Short term is defined as being available within one year, medium term is between two and three years and long term is three or more years.
Employment land availability is assessed and surveyed on an annual basis in conjunction with the Council’s Economic Development Unit. The results of these surveys can be viewed below.
