Discretionary Cost-of-living fund set to launch

Bridgend County Borough Council will launch its discretionary cost-of-living fund on 1 October, with the aim of offering further support to residents during the cost-of-living crisis.

Bryncethin RFC pavilion upgraded following successful Community Asset Transfer

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Huw David, and the Cabinet Member for Communities, Councillor Stuart Baldwin, recently visited the Bryncethin Community Centre which was re-opened in July 2019 following the re-development of the sports pavilion which cost more than £550,000 following the Community Asset Transfer (CAT) of the building and playing fields to Bryncethin RFC. Accompanying them on the visit was local Councillor Gary Thomas.

Winter Fuel Support Scheme Payment Doubled to £200

Eligible households facing rising energy bills are to receive an extra £100 relief payment as part of the Welsh Governments’ Household Support Fund which is providing £51m of targeted support for families and the most vulnerable in society.

Cabinet agrees its budget proposals for 2022-23

The Cabinet of Bridgend County Borough Council has agreed what its budget proposals will be for 2022-23 following a record 9.2 per cent increase in funding from Welsh Government.
