Residents urged to use online services

Residents in Bridgend county borough are being urged to use the council’s online services where possible rather than visiting the civic offices due to the ongoing spread of coronavirus.

Many services can be accessed online using a phone, tablet, PC or laptop.

They include services relating to housing and housing benefit, homelessness, blue badge applications, school admissions, recycling, waste and the environment as well as council tax, reporting issues and licensing, business rates and planning.

Due to the new social distancing guidance from Public Health Wales and the UK Government which is for the safety and wellbeing of residents and staff, we are asking people to think about whether they need to visit the council’s civic offices at all.

While our customer service centre at the civic offices in Angel Street, Bridgend, is currently open as normal, in a move to limit risk, we ask residents to use the online My Account service, Oggie webchat facilities and the Housing Jigsaw portal for homelessness and housing which can all be accessed via the council website.

People can also email the council at talktous@bridgend.gov.uk or call 01656 643643. All our teams are working hard to continue to provide essential services to our communities and we ask for understanding from our residents as we deal with these very challenging circumstances.
